Requirements for Most Royalty-Free Websites

Many Royalty Free sites have specific guidelines for photos submitted to them to ensure the best possible product for the buyers. They include:

• Images taken of at least 2 megapixels (some higher)
• File Sizes no smaller than 1600 x 1200 pixels (some higher)
• Proper lighting and not over or under exposed
• Proper Focus or not too tight depth of field
• Tidy Composition and not all cluttered
• Not too much grain (possible at long exposures or high ISO)
• No visible logos (trademark infringement)
• No visible facial features without a model release
• Images taken with a dirty lens are unacceptable
